The lock screen on a Middle School Student iPad shows several pieces of information. Because the screen cannot be unlocked without the passcode, this information can be helpful if the iPad needs to be identified.
Serial - this is the serial number of the iPad.
Name - this is the name and graduation year of the student the iPad is assigned to.
Tag - this is the asset tag/barcode number on the asset tag assigned to the device.
The asset tag can be found on the back of the iPad underneath the stand. If the iPad is not charged, has a broken screen, or some other condition that prevents the screen from being read, the asset tag will identify the device. The Middle School Library or the Help Desk can identify the student the iPad is assigned to by the asset tag number.
