Follow these directions to verify that the TestNav app will work properly on the computer you will use to take the ISASP tests.
There are four simple steps to verify that TestNav will work properly. Completing these steps should only take 2-3 minutes. There are troubleshooting steps included at the end of each step if the directions in a step do not work.
Step 1: Locate the TestNav App
- Go to Finder>Applications and locate the TestNav app. Do not open it.

Step 2: Launch the TestNav App
- Double-click the TestNav app you located in Step 1 to launch the TestNav app.
- Click the open button.
- TestNav will launch.

Step 3: Run App Check
- Click Iowa.
- Do not sign in.
- Click the person icon at the top right, then click App Check.
- Do not enter anything in the text field (configuration identifier).
- Click the Run App Check button.
- You should see two green results.

Step 4: Verify A Practice Test Will Start
In this step, you will start a practice test. This step is only to verify that a test will start. You do not need to choose a grade or subject. You do not need to answer any of the test questions.
- Click the Back to Sign In button.
- Click Practice Tests at the bottom.
- Do not worry about choosing a grade or subject. It does not matter for this step.
- Click the Start button next to a test.
- Leave the name as Guest.
- Click the Start button.
- Scroll to the bottom of the notice/agreement window and click the Start button.
- Wait for the test to load and become ready for you to take the test. Do not take the test.
- Click the person icon at the top right, then click Sign Out of TestNav.
- Click the Save and Return Later button.

Troubleshooting
Potential Problems with Step 1
Problem: You cannot find the TestNav app in the Applications folder:
Resolution:
- The first thing to try is to follow these steps. After you have completed the steps, return to these instructions and try doing Step 1 again.
- If troubleshooting step #1 did not work, try to install the TestNav app. After you have installed TestNav, return to these instructions and try doing Step 1 again.

Potential Problems with Step 2
Problem: The TestNav app asks for a username and password when it is started (see the image below).
Resolution: Follow the restart steps. After you have followed the steps, return to these instructions and try doing Step 2 again.

Problem: The TestNav app requests to open the Accessibility Access settings (see image below).
Resolution:
- Restart your computer using these specific steps.
- Go directly to step #2 in the section titled Step 2: Install TestNav and the Configuration Profile in the install the TestNav app directions.
- After you have installed the TestNav configuration profile, return to these instructions and try doing Step 1 again.
Problem: The TestNav app closes without warning.
Resolution:
- Wait 10-15 seconds to see if the TestNav reappears. If it does, continue to Step 3.
- If the TestNav window does not reappear after 10-15 seconds, send a Help Desk ticket by emailing support@clearlakeschools.org and include as much detail as possible about your trouble.
If you have issues with anything else in Step 2, send in a Help Desk ticket by emailing support@clearlakeschools.org and include as much detail as you can about the trouble you are having.
Potential Problems with Step 3
Problem: The TestNav app closes without warning.
Resolution:
- Wait 10-15 seconds to see if the TestNav reappears. If it does, continue to Step 4.
- If the TestNav window does not reappear after 10-15 seconds, send a Help Desk ticket by emailing support@clearlakeschools.org and include as much detail as possible about your trouble.
Problem: You do not get two green results.
